Holidaymakers heading to Thailand have been warned that the country is "volatile" amid anti-Government protests in Bangkok.British tourists should "exercise extreme caution" throughout Thailand and avoid large demonstrations and gatherings, according to the Foreign Office.A state of emergency was declared in the Thai capital and surrounding areas by the country's prime minister today after weeks of rising political tensions.The Government hopes that the army will be able to restore order after protestors broke into Parliament in a bid to call for new elections.
